Following on from the success of their debut single ‘Graceless’, ‘Nukular’ is the second release from the new Scottish electronic pop duo, Gefahrgeist (Fiona Liddell and Niall Rae). With lyrics that paint an apocalyptic poem and a haunting atmosphere, ‘Nukular’ is a blistering electronic fever dream that asks some tough questions of its listener.

Gefahrgeist combines the different musical expertise of two of Scotland’s promising young musicians – Fiona Liddell & Niall Rae. Fiona Liddell is a singer songwriter from Glasgow with a ten year music career performing with various musical projects (Jack Hinks, Echo Arcadia, Loud Poets). Niall (Neel) Rae is a producer and bassist from Aberdeen.  Their debut, ‘Graceless’ has been played on several radio stations (e.g. BBC, Amazing Radio, CamGlen FM) and has featured in over fifty bloggers’ playlists of top picks (The Scotsman, Herd Not Heard, Charlie Ashcroft).

“Nukular” tells the story of the world inside a nuclear explosion from the perspective of the man who pushed the button. The song’s dark and twisted lyrics speak of materialism, sensuality and death. The instrumentation surrounds you and creates an inescapable mushroom cloud of wailing synths, explosive drums, emotional vocals and dark cello.
