Anthology Editions announces Under the Banner of Concern, a new book of drawings and poetry by San Francisco-based artist, musician and producer Tim Presley (White Fence, DRINKS). The book is out August 25th.

Under the Banner of Concern features art from Presley’s eponymous 2019 exhibition at Chicago’s Soccer Club and Los Angeles’ The Pit, as well as previously unreleased works and new poetry. Presley’s black ink drawings merge abstracted and expressionistic brush and line work, breaking down figures into simple forms. Characterized by his “every figure” symbology in their emptied out flat bodies and hollowed eye sockets, these figures are both represented as sexualized and mask-like. Under the Banner of Concern is a psychedelic visual experience that is a place for introspection rather than pure image-making. The book features an introduction by author, artist, professor and curator Trinie Dalton.
