Grammy-Nominated Malian Artist Returns with New Album on 5th June

Fatoumata Diawara returns with MASSA, a bold new album arriving on 5th June, created in collaboration with celebrated French producer and artist -M-. Blending traditional Malian roots music with a contemporary pop aesthetic, MASSA continues Diawara’s mission to bring African storytelling and musical heritage to global audiences.

Across the album, Diawara explores deeply personal and universal themes including motherhood, faith, memory, resilience, and human connection — all delivered through her unmistakable voice and richly textured songwriting.

A Global Artist with Legendary Collaborators

Known for her genre-crossing creativity and magnetic live presence, Diawara has become one of the most influential contemporary African artists on the international stage. A prolific collaborator, she was recently invited by Lauryn Hill to perform together live on stage, while continuing her acclaimed touring work with Gorillaz.

Her extensive list of collaborators also includes Herbie Hancock, Damon Albarn, and Disclosure, reflecting her unique ability to bridge African traditions with contemporary global music culture.

New Single “Sigui” Tackles Relationships and Family Dynamics

The album’s latest single, “Sigui,” revisits one of Diawara’s recurring lyrical themes: the complexities of polygamous family structures and the emotional breakdown of relationships. Combining hypnotic rhythms with blues and rock influences, the track highlights the emotional honesty and social commentary that define much of her work.

European Tour and Major Festival Performances in 2026

Diawara’s distinctive blend of Afro-roots, blues, and rock continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, with an extensive European touring schedule planned for 2026. Highlights include a headline performance at the iconic Roundhouse as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival in November.

In summer 2026, she will also join Gorillaz for a run of major stadium shows across Europe, including a performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 20th June.
