New Soil have announced a new signing from London-based saxophonist, dancer and rapper tyroneisaacstuart and share his electrifying debut single ‘Anderson’. The accompanying short film provides a brief introduction to tyroneisaacstuart and focuses on his origins.

Born, raised and residing in East London, tyroneisaacstuart honed his skills as saxophonist with Tomorrow’s Warriors while also dancing with Boy Blue Entertainment. Recipient of the Steve Reid Innovation Award in 2019-2020, he has since forged a practice where he is comfortable playing SXSW or Church of Sound one week, and dancing in Little Simz’ Brit Awards performance another. He’s worked  with many of the artists now shaping the vibrant UK jazz scene including Moses Boyd, Theon Cross, Cassie Kinoshi/seed Ensemble, Mark Kavuma & Kokoroko.

The result of a heated session, ‘Anderson’ bubbles with chopped arrangements, swung jazz licks and heavy soloing, before dissolving into a tangle of tape loops and dial-up modem.

Anderson means a lot to me because it represents the power of an idea. This song was a birthday song for a friend. But with enough time, it became a call to action (go for it), an alter alias, a character within the world of S!CK, emphasises tyroneisaacstuart.

Keep your ears and eyes peeled for more to come from tyroneisaacstuart.
