The iconic Blue Note Jazz Club is set to open its first UK location in London’s West End on 23 September, bringing its celebrated blend of jazz and adjacent genres to St Martin’s Lane, Covent Garden.

Five-time GRAMMY winner Robert Glasper will headline the club’s opening nights on 23 and 24 September, before returning for a further seven shows in November. Glasper will also serve as Blue Note London’s creative ambassador, helping shape the club’s musical culture.

“Starting this new club is about creating a space where jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and everything in between can meet, evolve, and surprise people,” says Glasper. “I’m excited to build something in London that feels intimate, fearless, and alive.”

The opening programme will bring together major international names and some of the UK’s most exciting artists, with performances and residencies from Erykah Badu, Jamie Cullum, Nubya Garcia, corto.alto, Yussef Dayes, KOKOROKO and Hak Baker, among others.

Designed with London’s musical history in mind, the club aims to connect established global artists with emerging British talent. It will also host occasional surprise performances, continuing a tradition found across Blue Note venues in New York, Los Angeles, Milan and beyond.

“London has always been one of the world’s great music capitals,” says Tsion Bensusan, Co-Owner of Blue Note Entertainment Group. “Our hope is that Blue Note London becomes more than a venue, it becomes a home for musicians, a gathering place for the community, and an integral part of London’s cultural landscape.”

The new venue will feature two performance spaces. The main room has capacity for 250 people, with shows at 7pm and 9:30pm, while the 100-capacity B-Side is due to open later in 2026, focusing on emerging British talent. The club will remain open until 1am Monday to Saturday and midnight on Sundays.

Food and drink will be an important part of the experience, with a contemporary menu combining international comfort food with a British influence, alongside cocktails, wines and premium spirits.

Designed by Julien Legeard of Legeard Studio, the interior combines rich blue tones, elegant drapery, bespoke lighting, jazz photography and Blue Note’s distinctive plaque tables. The design has been created around bringing audiences closer to the stage, with sightlines, lighting and acoustics carefully considered throughout.

The opening date carries its own significance: 23 September 2026 marks the 100th birthday of John Coltrane, one of jazz’s most influential figures.

Tickets for the first shows go on general sale at 10am BST on Friday 14 August, with the Blue Note Membership presale beginning at 10am on Wednesday 12 August and the venue presale at 10am on Thursday 13 August.

Blue Note London is also launching two membership options ahead of opening: the Founding Membership, offering priority access and exclusive experiences, and the Founders Society, limited to 100 members and offering the highest level of access and hospitality.

With its combination of international names, homegrown talent and intimate surroundings, Blue Note London is preparing to open a new chapter for one of jazz’s best-known club brands in the heart of the capital.
