Scottish BAFTA award laureate Samir Mehanovic shows his new documentary – The Fog of Srebrenica at Edinburgh Filmhouse Cinema.

The film commemorates the 20th Anniversary of the atrocities committed by Serbs in Bosnian Srebrenica (massacre). It is a heartfelt and truly emotional set of stories from survivors of the genocide. The director lets the characters speak out from the heart, allows emotions to flow and doesn’t hard edit the film too much.

The documentary is a prime example of what ungrounded, pseudo ethnic differences cause to societies, picturing the horrors of war and its devastating outcomes.

What do we do when we lose all family members?

What is the future for a town of which most men were murdered?

Who is there to take the blame for over 8000 brutally slaughtered men, women and children?

Samir Mehanovic believes that The Hague’s International Court has failed to serve justice in this case.
