Originally formed from a basement jam, Caytra is a timestamp of each member’s uniqueness and symbiosis showcasing a blend of Hip Hop, Funk, Jazz and Rock. With London’s diverse nightlife at the heart of their sound and the UK Jazz scene at the forefront of their influence, Caytra’s defining characteristic is their blend of technicality and dance-ability.

Caytra’s debut self titled, self produced E.P is a carefully crafted selection of songs that combine the subtlety and colour of the bands influences, while showcasing their capabili ties in both writing and playing, as well as their unique approach to production and natural chemistry. They wear their influences on their sleeve, with nods to UK jazz pioneers Yussef Kamaal and Tom Misch, and US groove kings Chris Dave and Ghostnote. The trio drives the E.P forward with parts written to breathe an air of unpredictability into arrangements that, whilst tightly scripted at times, allow for the natural self expression that comes with moving into spontaneous moments of improvisation.

The trio have recently undergone an incredibly successful release campaign of a series of singles in preparation for the initial release of the E.P. The releases have gained widespread support and attention from the likes of radio stations such as Soho Radio and Totally Wired Radio. Caytra also found their place in various official Spotify and Apple Music curated playlists as well guest features from sites such as Music Is My Sanctuary.

The E.P has been sighted to feature “a rollercoaster of slick instrumentation, production and tempos reminiscent of collectives such as Ghost Note and Chris Dave and The Drumhedz” – Twisted Soul.
