James Shaw returns to Our Circular Sound as Sigha for the first time in seven years with ‘Move to Speed’ this November.
Across ‘Move to Speed’ Sigha seeks to play with the forward-thinking techno he’s known for in a fresh new way. Throughout the EP the British producer intersperses polyrhythmic tendencies and unpredictable time signatures with razor-sharp modern drum & bass permutations and clear-cut aesthetics, crafting one of his most sonically distinctive and intricate releases to date.
Written with adventurous DJs and curious listeners in mind, the EP displays unnerving attention to detail across the four tracks, combining highly technical processes with thrilling twists and turns through the use of lethal low-end, clever sound design, and dramatic synthesis. By weaving these technical sensibilities in with a deeply rooted appreciation of sound system culture, Sigha has delivered a soulful and inspired EP.
After relaunching in 2019, Sigha’s Our Circular Sound label has successfully re-established itself as one of the foremost labels for detailed and considered electronic music, releasing music from Faugust, AVL, Portrait, and Masaki Uchida.
